Scottish EDGE is a large competitive fund to support home-grown entrepreneurial talent comprising a Dragon’s Den style pitching competition for ambitious entrepreneurs who wish to grow their business.

Funded by the Hunter Foundation, the Royal Bank of Scotland, the Scottish Government, Scottish Enterprise and private donors, the competition is delivered twice per year and has supported 395 early stage Scottish businesses with over £15m in award funding.

There are various categories including some specialised ones.

The competition is open to limited companies, social enterprises and charities in Scotland who have been trading for up to five years who wish to apply for up to £100,000 in grant and loan to accelerate growth of their business. There are also smaller funds for unincorporated businesses.

The next round (round 21) launches on 24 January

The regional winners in the last round were GaiTar, Gledfield Distillery, Orkney Cloth Company, Ava Innes and Clarity Walk
