Last week there was a fire in Elgin. A house in North Guildry Street caught fire in the early hours of Tuesday morning. In that moment we thought our worst nightmare had come to pass as this building is right next door to our own Cathedral office.

None of our staff were allowed into the office until the adjacent property had been declared safe. But by early afternoon it was business as usual apart from the smell of burning.

It is just as well we have off site backups. If the worst case had come to pass we could have been up and running again as soon as we could replace the computers, desks and chairs. After all we do have another office in South Street. Mind you, it could have been a bit cramped for a few days.
