Personal Tax & AML Complaince Specialist - Join The Long Partnership

Location:  Inverness  (with Hybrid working)

Hours:      Monday to Friday, 09:00 hrs – 17:00 hrs 

What Will You Do?

As our Personal Tax & AML Compliance Specialist, you’ll play a pivotal role, reporting to the Office Manager. Your dual-role responsibility will encompass:

Personal Tax

  • Prepare, review, and submit individual and partnership tax returns, including self-assessment tax computations, to HM Revenue & Customs.
  • Engage with clients to obtain accounting records and prepare income & expenditure statements.
  • Review statements in collaboration with the manager and integrate trading results into the tax return software.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure timely receipt and analysis of directors’ loan accounts.
  • Prepare, review, and submit forms P11D, advise clients on National Insurance implications for employment-related benefits, and ensure all submissions meet HM Revenue & Customs requirements.

AML Compliance Administration

  • Complete AML compliance documentation for all new clients, including ID checks and record onto IRIS.
  • Conduct thorough customer due diligence (CDD) and enhanced due diligence (EDD) checks where necessary.
  • Report any suspicious activities by completing SAR report to the Office Manager / Compliance Officer in a timely manner.
  • Review and update client records, ensuring that documentation is current and compliant with AML regulations.

What We’re Looking For:

Qualifications: HND/Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance. Membership with ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or similar is an advantage but not essential.

Experience: Proven expertise in UK personal tax, knowledge of AML regulations, and familiarity with IRIS.

Qualities: Attention to detail, ethical behaviour, effective communication, adaptability, client-centric mindset, and a collaborative spirit.
